State Laws about Mini Trucks

Mini Trucks are sold as off-road vehicles to be used on farms, Ranches, hunting leases and construction sites as well as many other uses. Federal safety standards do not apply to these minitrucks as they are sold as off-road vehicles, even though they are allowed on public roads in some states. Seventeen states now allow minitrucks on specific portions of public roads.

The information below was obtained from the Insurance Institute For Highway Safety and you can read the entire article by visiting their website: http://www.iihs.org/laws/minitrucks.aspx as well as obtain further information about speed restrictions and vehicle classification under state law.
